Jamie is an Emmy-nominated writer/director whose recent feature documentary, FAREWELL FERRIS WHEEL, spends eight years exploring the issues surrounding legal migrant workers through the lens of the American Carnival. The film won the Creative Promise Award from the Tribeca Film Institute, and was broadcast nationally on PBS and Netflix.
Jamie also wrote and directed STAY AWAKE, a narrative short film that explores addiction through the eyes of two teenage brothers. STAY AWAKE premiered at the Berlin Film Festival, won the Jury Prize for best narrative short at Slamdance, screened at 60+ film festivals around the world, and received the National Board of Review Short Film Prize. His work has received support from the Sundance Institute, SFFILM, Tribeca Film Institute, ITVS, Film Independent, Latino Public Broadcasting, and The Jerome Foundation.
Jamie earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia before working for six years as a manager in the music industry with artists such as Dave Matthews Band, Tim McGraw, and Faith Hill. He then moved from his beloved Virginia to NYC, where he received an M.F.A. in Film from Columbia University. He currently lives in Los Angeles.
